As our chief investment officer, Steven chairs the Investment Committee and co-ordinates its work. Within this group he contributes to the macroeconomic scenarios, asset allocation, and security selection decisions made on behalf of all firm clients. He also manages investment portfolios and relationships for individual and institutional clients at Zevin.

Before joining Zevin Asset Management in 2016, Steven was a senior portfolio manager overseeing client portfolios and equity mutual funds at AlphaOne Capital in Boston. He began serving those clients in 2001 while at sister companies David L. Babson and OppenheimerFunds, where he similarly served as a portfolio manager. Prior to earning his MBA in Finance at Indiana University, Steven taught English as a Second Language in Costa Rica and worked in the engineering field analyzing fiber optic communications. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering in 1991 from Tufts University, where he also furthered his passion for soccer on the Tufts men’s team. Steven most recently became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to deepen his private client expertise.

Steven is a member of the CFA Society Boston, the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute, and the Boston Estate Planning Council. He has served as a board member of Indiana University’s Reese Investment Fund for the past 15 years and is a former board member of Leaders of Tomorrow, Inc., a nonprofit that closely supports at-risk youths in the Allston-Brighton community. One of Steven’s greatest joys has come from coaching youth soccer in his town for the past 11 years.

Steven cherishes family time spent with his wife and teen daughter and son. He is an avid world traveler and is passionate about social justice and corporate governance, especially as it relates to excessive pay for those at the top.
